Green Central Asia, phase II
Transboundary dialogue on Climate, Environment and Security in Central Asia – Bridging borders to enhance regional adaptation and mitigation
Welcome to the information page of the Regional Programme “Green Central Asia, Phase II”, which aims to prevent climate risks by strengthening cross-border cooperation in Central Asia.
The Programme implemented by GIZ on the initiative of the German Government aims to strengthen regional gender-balanced coordination in the field of climate change adaptation, to increase institutional and individual adaptive capacity through improved knowledge management and scientific cooperation.
“Green Central Asia, Phase II” is being implemented with the support of GIZ in the countries of the region: the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Programme is being implemented in partnership with the Helmholtz Center Potsdam – German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Potsdam Institute for Climate Change Research (PIK) and the Kazakh-German Institute (DKU).
Our team collaborates with national partners, regional organisations and local communities to jointly develop and implement projects that promote environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation. We are convinced that only by joining forces will we achieve our goals and create a sustainable future for all countries in the region.
