From August to September 2026, a gender analysis was conducted in 11 cities and districts across the Kafirnigan River Basin to explore how women and men contribute to water resources management and climate change adaptation.
The research included awareness-raising and training activities, as well as surveys with local residents. The data collected provided insights into access to water resources, the impacts of climate change on local communities, and the participation of women and men in decision-making.
The findings will help identify the different needs and challenges faced by local communities, highlight existing gaps and opportunities, and inform more inclusive approaches to water resources management and climate change adaptation.
Active community participation is essential for sustainable water management. Taking the needs and perspectives of both women and men into account can help make decision-making more equitable and effective, while strengthening climate resilience throughout the Kafirnigan River Basin.
