On 27 February an official ceremony for the handover of technical equipment to basin water inspections was held at the premises of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.
As part of the event, the national side received 40 tablets and 40 laptops intended to equip basin water inspections with modern digital tools. The equipment will be used for inspection and control activities, on-site assessments, documentation of violations of water legislation, and the prompt exchange of data with the central office.
The official handover of the equipment on behalf of the Ministry was received by the First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Aldamzharov. In his remarks, he emphasized that strengthening the material and technical capacity of basin inspections is an important component of implementing the new Water Code and enhancing the effectiveness of state control in the field of water use and protection.
Representatives of the Committee for Regulation, Protection and Use of Water Resources also took part in the ceremony. It was noted that the digitalization of control and supervisory functions will increase the transparency of inspection activities, ensure higher-quality monitoring of water use, and strengthen the practical implementation of the principles of sustainable and climate-sensitive water resources management.
The handover of the equipment marked another step toward strengthening the institutional capacity of Kazakhstan’s water sector and supporting the ongoing reforms.
