On 16 July, a roundtable discussion focusing on the exchange of experience in environmental education and culture was held at the Environmental Education Centre of the Shirkent Historical and Nature Park.
The event was organized by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan with the support of the project “Climate-sensitive Water Resources Management in Central Asia
The roundtable brought together environmental specialists, local rangers, fishermen, volunteers, and residents of Shakhrinav and Tursunzoda.
One of the key highlights was the release of 3,700 juvenile Amu Darya trout into the Karatag River — a species listed in the Red Book of Tajikistan. The initiative aims to restore and increase the population of this rare fish.
