EuroFest 2025: Cultural Dialogue and Support for Sustainable Development in Central Asia

On June 1, the annual EuroFest 2025 celebration of Europe Day took place in Astana. This year, the festival was dedicated to International Children’s Day. The event aimed to promote cultural exchange and showcase the traditions, cuisine, and crafts of European Union countries. The festival program included a market featuring European products and gastronomy, live performances, and interactive entertainment for the whole family. All proceeds from the festival will be donated to support local charitable organizations.

A joint booth was organized by the teams of two projects implemented by GIZ under the initiative “European Union for Sustainable Central Asia,” where the project activities were presented. For young visitors, an engaging game was organized on topics such as climate change, water resources, carbon footprints, and environmentally sustainable solutions. Children enthusiastically shared their “green” habits, talking about how they save water and electricity, sort waste, and choose eco-friendly transport.

Parents also eagerly participated in contests, with winners receiving prizes and certificates of participation.
