On 18 March, Dr Caroline Milow, GIZ Programme Manager, attended the World Water Day celebrations organised by the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineersof the National Research University and the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan.
On the margins of the World Water Day celebrations, Dr Milow and Mr Saidrasul Sanginov, Deputy Executive Chairman of the Central Council of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening the partnership between the two regional programmes implemented by GIZ and the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan. In particular, the Memorandum will serve as a platform for research, awareness-raising and several national and regional events planned within the International Amudarya and Syrdarya River Days supported by the GIZ programme.
