GIZ and KAZENERGY Discussed Current Issues in Renewable Energy Development and Integration

Today, a working meeting was held at KAZENERGY with representatives of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) (the German organization for international cooperation, including in the energy sector) and Total Renewables.

During the event, key issues related to the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into Kazakhstan’s power grid were discussed.

Participants focused on the implementation and operation of energy storage systems (BESS), including legal regulation, technical connection and forecasting, as well as the training of qualified personnel in this field.

GIZ representatives shared their international experience in integrating RES into the power grids of various countries, proposing possible solutions to current challenges. Total Renewables, in turn, presented its pilot project on energy storage systems and reported on the progress of a 1 GW renewable energy project with energy storage systems.

The meeting was constructive and facilitated the exchange of experiences, which will be an important step towards the further development of renewable energy in Kazakhstan.
