On September 19, 2024, a meeting with representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) was held at KOREM JSC. Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Financial Settlement Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources (FSC) also participated in the event.
The purpose of the meeting was to plan cooperation and discuss the main areas of the regional project “Renewable Energy Sources in Central Asia,” implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The project includes the provision of technical, organizational, and consulting services, capacity building for specialists, and the development of regional cooperation in the field of renewable energy.
In turn, KOREM JSC employees discussed the company’s role in the Kazakhstani electricity market and introduced the meeting participants to the auction process for selecting renewable energy projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The parties discussed the status and prospects for the development of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan, the experience of European countries in developing the renewable energy sector, the recycling of equipment used in the renewable energy sector, the operation of energy storage systems, as well as the training and education of specialists in Kazakhstan for work in the energy sector.
