On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 the first online meeting of the working group to discuss the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Document as part of the Green Central Asia Initiative was held. with the support of HYDROC international experts.
This workshop with representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Central Asia, relevant sector ministries and state committees, as well as international, regional, and national experts discussed the preparation of a regional document on climate change adaptation.
Information was provided on the impact of climate change, relevant policies, and a range of possible adaptation options. Recommendations were also made for capacity building and research in the field of changing natural processes and adaptation approaches that would become even more effective with regional collaboration.
The workshop discussed the preparation of a roadmap taking into consideration the existing climate change adaptation initiatives at the national, regional, and international levels and identification of priorities of the regional adaptation, as well as the joint agreement on the nature, content, and structure of a regional adaptation document.
