Turkmenistan Delegation Participated in International Training Course on Renewable Energy in Florence

From September 29 to October 1, a delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the training course ‘Regulation and Integration of Renewable Energy’ held at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.

The event, organized by the Florence School of Regulation (FSR) in cooperation with leading European institutions, brought together policymakers, regulators, experts, and practitioners from around the world to exchange knowledge and best practices on integrating renewable energy into modern energy markets and systems.

The Turkmen delegation represented a broad spectrum of the national energy sector, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Concern “Turkmengaz,” the Ministry of Energy, and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.

During the training, participants explored international experience in renewable energy governance, competitive support mechanisms such as auctions and contracts-for-difference, investment and financing models, grid development, and innovative Power-to-X technologies as tools for cross-sectoral cooperation and accelerating the sustainable energy transition.

The course provided the Turkmen participants with an opportunity to enhance their professional expertise, engage in constructive dialogue with international partners, and learn about advanced European and global approaches in renewable energy development.

Participation in the course was made possible with the support of the project ‘EU for a Green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024–2028’, co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, and implemented by GIZ.
