Practical Training on ADCP Installation and Operation Held in Nukus

On 27 June 2026, a practical training on the installation, configuration, and operation of the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) integrated with Trimaran software was held in Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ practical skills in the use of modern hydrometric equipment for water resources monitoring. During the session, participants gained hands-on experience in ADCP hardware installation, software configuration, system calibration, data acquisition, and troubleshooting procedures.

A significant part of the programme was dedicated to field exercises, where participants practiced operating the ADCP in rivers and canals, applying modern measurement techniques under real-world conditions.

The training brought together representatives of the Amu Darya and Syr Darya Basin Water Organizations, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The event provided an excellent platform for enhancing the technical capacities of water management professionals responsible for hydrological monitoring and data collection.

Such practical capacity-building activities contribute to the wider adoption of advanced hydrometric technologies, improve the accuracy of water resources monitoring, and strengthen institutional capacities for integrated water resources management across the region.
