KEGOC and GIZ signed a memorandum of cooperation at Qazaq Green Fest 2025.

The 4th International Business Festival of Renewable Energy, Qazaq Green Fest, organized by the Qazaq Green Association, is taking place in Aktau on September 12–13, 2025. The forum brought together over 400 representatives from government agencies, businesses, international organizations, financial institutions, and the expert community, confirming its status as a leading platform for discussing the energy transition in Kazakhstan.

As part of the festival, KEGOC JSC and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document provides for the exchange of experience and technologies in the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into the country’s power grid.

Almaz Saukhimov, Managing Director for National Grid Development at KEGOC, noted that the company is implementing a large-scale national grid development program aimed at the accelerated construction and modernization of networks for the benefit of the economy and a successful energy transition.

“Cooperation with GIZ will allow KEGOC to implement best international practices, strengthen the reliability of the power system, and create conditions for sustainable grid operation in the context of a growing share of renewable energy sources,” he emphasized.

Sven Erenedal, Project Manager for Renewable Energy in Central Asia (EURECA) GIZ Project, noted:
“We are pleased to collaborate with KEGOC to further advance the energy transition. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to sustainable development, and we intend to promote regional cooperation in Central Asia, sharing this experience with other countries in the region.”

The Qazaq Green Fest agenda focuses on legislative initiatives, the development of energy storage systems, the implementation of digital solutions, and grid modernization. Following the forum, a Charter will be prepared containing the business community’s proposals to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of renewable energy.
